CÔTE D’IVOIRE

Colossians 1:9–10 –  “For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we
have not stopped praying for you… that you may live a life worthy of the Lord
and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the
knowledge of God.”

Côte d’Ivoire, located along the West African coast, is home to about 30–31 million people representing diverse ethnic groups, languages, and cultures. The nation’s faith landscape is religiously mixed, with Islam widely practiced —particularly in the northern regions — alongside a significant Christian population and traditional belief systems. This diversity creates both challenges and remarkable opportunities for the Gospel to grow through wisdom, unity, and Spirit-led discipleship.

As a regional hub for migration and commerce, Côte d’Ivoire continues to welcome people from across West Africa, making it a strategic place for believers to demonstrate Christ’s love through hospitality, sound teaching, and faithful witness. Paul’s prayer in Colossians echoes the desire for believers in this nation to grow in knowledge, bear fruit, and walk in a manner worthy of the Lord.

Prayer Focus:

  • Pray for the Gospel to penetrate unevangelized areas, especially within the predominantly Muslim north, that hearts would be opened through respectful relationships and Spirit-led outreach.
  • Ask God to help Christians recognize and seize evangelistic opportunities among the many foreigners and migrants flowing into the country.
  • Pray for the pure, unadulterated truths of the Bible to be taught clearly and effectively, raising strong disciples who grow in wisdom, unity, and faithful service across Côte d’Ivoire.
