John 1:5 – “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not
overcome it.”
The Czech Republic, located in Central Europe, is home to about 10.5–11million people. Known for its rich history and beautiful cities like Prague, the nation is often considered one of the most secular societies in the world, with a large portion of the population identifying as non-religious or unaffiliated. While Christianity has deep historical roots—especially Roman Catholicism—active faith expression is limited, and many people remain spiritually distant. Yet this creates a significant opportunity for the light of Christ to shine afresh in a culture searching for meaning and truth.
Prayer Focus:
- Pray for a lifting of the spiritual heaviness over the nation, that the light of Christ would break through every area of darkness and bring renewed hope to individuals and communities.
- Lift up Czech youth, asking God to inspire fresh and creative expressions of Christian fellowship and discipleship that resonate with their generation and draw many into authentic faith.
- Pray for the widespread distribution of one million copies of the newly translated Czech Bible, that God’s Word would be received with openness and transform hearts across the nation. May the Czech Republic experience a powerful awakening as the light of the Gospel shines brightly once again.
