Joshua 1:9 –  “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not
be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever
you go.”

Japan, an island nation in East Asia known for its rich traditions and technological innovation, is home to about 123–125 million people. The spiritual landscape is shaped largely by Shinto and Buddhist cultural practices, while Christianity represents a small minority faith community. In a society marked by strong work culture, social pressure, and deep respect for heritage, many people quietly search for purpose, belonging, and hope beyond material success.

The words of Joshua call believers in Japan to courage — a reminder that God’s presence walks with His people even in places where faith feels hidden or misunderstood. As seeds of the Gospel continue to be planted, the Lord invites hearts across Japan to discover His peace and enduring love.

Prayer Focus:

  • Pray for the Gospel to take deep root within Japanese culture, that faith in Christ would be seen not as foreign but as a living hope that speaks to the nation’s identity and future.
  • Lift up drifting, overworked, and anxious youth, asking God to reveal freedom, rest, and renewed purpose through Jesus.
  • Pray for unity among believers across denominations, that the Spirit of God would break down divisions and raise a unified, compassionate witness that shines brightly throughout Japan.
