Curaçao, a vibrant Caribbean island just off the northern coast of South America, is home to about 155,000–160,000 people representing a rich blend of cultures and languages, including Dutch, Spanish, English, and Papiamento. The island’s spiritual heritage is largely shaped by Christianity, with Roman Catholicism as the dominant faith tradition alongside Protestant and evangelical communities. While many identify culturally with Christianity, there is a growing desire for deeper discipleship and authentic personal faith rooted ina living relationship with Jesus.
In a place known for its colorful beauty and cultural diversity, the call of Scripture encourages believers to stand firm with courage and strength, allowing Christ’s truth to shape every generation.
Prayer Focus:
- Pray for vibrant and growing churches to permeate the island, becoming centers of discipleship, worship, and compassionate outreach.
- Ask God to inspire increased production and distribution of Christian literature and Bible resources in the Papiamento language so that people can encounter Scripture in their heart language.
- Pray for authentic relationships with the living Christ among nominal Christians — that faith would move beyond tradition into genuine transformation, renewal, and bold witness throughout Curaçao.
